Play is a child’s work and toys are the tools of their trade. How can parents make the most of the toys they provide for their children? Come to this FREE 1-hour presentation to answer questions such as:
What makes a good toy?
What toys are apporpriate for my child’s age?
Is this toy worth the investment?
Is this toy safe?
What toys would be great for my child?
This program is presented by the Philadelphia Center for Architecture in collaboration with the Please Touch Museum and will be led by Stacey Swigart, Director of Collection at the Please Touch Museum.

Tree Lighting & Holiday Concert
December 6th, 2013
5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Join us at Congress Hall as we light up Cape May with our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Concert. Listen to the Congress Hall Festival Choir serenade the night with festive sounds of the Season as we get ready to count down to the bright occasion. This year’s tree is a 32-foot Blue Spruce, donated by the Brinkman family of North Cape May.
Help spread the holiday cheer! Congress Hall is accepting donations of unwrapped toys to benefit Toys for Tots and canned goods for the Cape May Food Closet, as both organizations will be present at the event.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place on December 6th, with Winter Wonderland events beginning at 5pm.
Concert Begins in The Ballroom at 8pm.
The tree will be lit shortly following the concert at 9pm
Enjoy Winter Wonderland until 10 pm!

The chorus, directed by founder, John Alston, will be performing a program of classical music and several holiday numbers in a variety of musical styles.
The chorus includes boys and girls 8 to 18 years old from the Chester Upland school district. Students are auditioned in the spring and participate in a year-round music education and academic enrichment program.
The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken to support the chorus program.

Grow Your Heart 3 Sizes Grinch-mas Event

Children will be invited to create heart shaped leaves that will be attached to the “tree limbs”, on the leaves children can list three good deeds that they have done that grew their hearts 3 sizes bigger. We will also have coloring pages, Grinch-mas cards to decorate, and cookies & milk. Everyone who creates a leaf for our tree will get a free “I grew my heart 3 sizes” Grinch-mas button (while supplies last) and postcards they can fill out that give them the opportunity to tell the Grinch himself about their 3 good deeds; and in return, Random House will donate a book to First Book for distribution to each child’s community.
